Ashley and Kirk are the owners of CrossFit 317 and both have a background in collegiate sports which has fired up their passion for CrossFit and helping everyone find their inner athlete.

Ashley has an extensive background in strength and conditioning, beginning by having her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and her Master’s in Sport Science. After completing her senior year of playing softball at Indiana University, Ashley stayed on as a Graduate Assistant and worked with the softball team, creating their warm-ups, on field conditioning, and assisting the full time strength coach. During her collegiate career, she had the opportunity to intern at UCLA’s strength and conditioning facility as well as EXOS and learn from some of the best coaches in the business. After college, Ashley moved back to Brownsburg and opened up CrossFit 317 in October of 2012. It has always been her dream to be able to help other finds their inner strength and truly reveal what their body is capable of! Owning and coaching at 317 is truly her dream job!

I truly don’t know where I would be right now if it wasn’t for CrossFit. I am so glad that I found it at somewhat of a young age (21). It has taught me how to take the best care of myself, gotten me through two pregnancies, helped me bounce back from pregnancy, it helps keep up with a toddler and have the energy (and sanity) to get through the day. I get to be an active, hands on parent instead of sit on the sidelines. CrossFit improves my quality of life in so many different ways and coaching allows me to help others do the same!

I’ve been doing CrossFit since August 2014. I discovered the movement after getting bored with powerlifting by myself for a couple years. I wanted to find a more communal environment for getting in shape, similar to the camaraderie I associated with sports in high school and this is it. I am father of three and I love running the kids class showing them that fitness is about getting active and having fun. Outside of the gym, I’m a HVAC technician and I’ve done work in most of the large scale jobs around Indianapolis in the past decade. I enjoy being outside anyway I can. My kids and I like to go swimming, hiking, throw a frisbee, and anything active outdoors. My favorite movements in CrossFit are rope climbs, ring dips, and anything with a kettlebell.
