Today we’re sharing some recent feedback from one of our original Flex 317 members, Megan Burton. Read on to learn more about her experience with the program.
“Flex 317 has honestly been a life saver for me. I am someone who really NEEDS to be active or else I can really feel my mental health decline. I have found that working out consistently is the best thing for me when it comes to keeping my anxiety and mood in check and just for feeling good in general. In the past, I have done gym memberships, Beachbody programs and I also came to 317 for classes. I’m pretty self motivated, but once I became a mom, I really started letting my needs go on the back burner. I gained weight, I was grumpy and I just never felt good.
I started at 317Fit when my youngest child was 6 months old. When I started going to 317, I loved that the classes were intense and how I never had to figure out my own routine. The staff and members there were wonderful. I trusted the coaches and definitely saw changes in my body, both physically and mentally…butttt I constantly had mom guilt due to being gone at the gym several times a week. I also have a bit of performance anxiety, so I would always get nervous before coming in because I would worry about silly stuff…will I be the last one done? Will I mess the movements up? So…I quit going. I started Beachbody programs and would do the workouts a few times a week, but I still felt like I was in a rut.
When the Flex317 program was announced, I KNEW this program was exactly what I needed. I was already familiar with the coaching staff from 317 and I knew I could trust the programming. I really felt my motivation skyrocket. With Flex, I get the best of both worlds. I can get an awesome workout at home but still have the extra support to keep me goal-oriented and to keep me accountable. My workouts are scheduled as a normal part of my day, so I make sure to get them done. I don’t have to commute to and from the gym. I don’t have to feel guilty for spending an hour away from my kids several times a week. In fact, my kids LOVE to watch me workout and usually join in (which makes my heart soooo happy).
This year, I have been more consistent with working out than I have ever been. I have lost 8lbs and 4 inches in my waist and hips since starting with Flex317. I feel like I have finally found a program that allows me to be the mom I need to be while also allowing me to take care of myself. I feel accomplished. I feel motivated. I feel supported. I am so excited to take on this second half of the year. I have some big goals and I feel like Coach Jenna is just as excited as I am to see the progress!”
