December Athlete Of The Month

“My proudest accomplishment so far has to be just this week during the “Holleyman” workout. I did 90 push-ups on the ground.

We’re excited to announce our December Athlete Of The Month, Sarah Everhart! After some brief time away, Sarah rejoined 317 through our Burn program and then began adding CrossFit classes back in to her weekly workout routine. Her efforts in class are paying off and we’re so proud of the hard work and dedication that she demonstrates in each class. We invite you to read on to learn more about Sarah!


How did you get started with CrossFit?
“I drove by one day and stopped to talk to Ashley, she signed me up for an intro class and from there I was off and running. I then had some medical issues and stopped for a bit but couldn’t stay away. In May 2018 I got back into class and have been going strong ever since.”

Favorite movement or workout?
“I would say my favorite movement is probably back squats, I am hoping to get better at them this upcoming year. My favorite workout is any of them with a partner. I enjoy being pushed and motivated by others.”

Least favorite movement or workout?
“Definitely burpees even though we do them a lot. I still don’t like them.”

Long term and short term goals:
“Long term = to keep myself healthy and continue to grow strong by making into the gym at least 4 days a week. Short term = loose a couple more inches off my weight and work on my pull-up.”

What would you tell someone that is on the fence about CrossFit and is scared to try?
“I would tell them not to be scared to try CrossFit. Everything we do can be scaled to any level. It is a great community and we have lots of fun working out and keeping ourselves healthy.”

What is your proudest accomplishment so far?
“My proudest accomplishment so far has to be just this week during the “Holleyman” workout. I did 90 push-ups on the ground. I am also pretty proud that I have dropped 3 sizes as well.”

Who are 3 people you look up to and why?
“First would be my Grandfather. He taught me so much about life and I wish I could have another conversation with him. The second would be my high school basketball coach. Not only did he teach us skills on the court but he also was there for us during the off season helping us get though high school and onto college. Third would be the coaches here at 317, they have pushed me to be a strong and healthier person.”

What do you love most about CrossFit 317?
“I love the fact that the coaches here at 317 are so encouraging, challenging and helpful. They create great workouts that make me keep coming back. This place truly is a community of individuals all trying to reach a common goal of fitness and health and I am happy to be a part of it.”

What is a quote or motto that you live by?
“When I first returned to CrossFit 317 Andrew quoted the Navy SEAL’s 40% rule which says ‘When your mind is telling you you’re done, you are really only 40% done.’ This has stuck with me and when I feel like giving up I think about this rule and keep on going.”
