We speak with Pat Walsh in today’s Member Monday. Read on to learn how #team530 has impacted his life as Pat approaches his one year anniversary at CrossFit 317.

What were your first impressions upon joining CrossFit 317?
“The coaching was fantastic – every warmup movement, every rep – my coach was right there, completely engaged in getting the best out of the athletes, helping and training beginners and experienced athletes alike. Also – the gym was very well organized and professional. I felt like I was really joining a solid place.”

How has your training at 317 impacted your life outside of the gym?
“The physical aspects are great – it feels great as a middle aged dude to be able to go out and try almost any sport or physical activity and be able to hang in there. However, it’s the mental aspect that has the most impact. I am more mentally prepared to be positive, and face challenges, after a kickass 5:30am workout.”

How does CrossFit 317 meet your health and fitness needs?
“Great coaching, programming, and always varied.  Always pushes me.”

Do you have a 317 memory that you would like to share?
“My first CrossFit competition back in September was very cool. Masters co-ed partner competition with Jill. It was challenging, fun, and awesome that other members and coaches were there supporting us.”

What’s your favorite part of CrossFit?
“Olympic weightlifting.”

If asked to sum up 317 in one word or phrase, what would it be?
“#Team0530.”

Outside of the gym, what activities and hobbies do you enjoy?
“Coaching my kids’ sports. Being with my family. Playing sports, outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, mountain biking.”
