CrossFit 317 member, Kari Fraine, came to us through our recent New You Challenge. Kari has since transferred in to our traditional CrossFit classes and we’re thrilled to have her with us. Read on to learn how CrossFit helps Kari navigate through long work days and brought back the the feeling of camaraderie from her former days of being an athlete.

What were your first impressions upon joining CrossFit 317?
“What nice people! I felt like I was welcomed into the ‘CrossFit Family/Community’ from day one.”

How has your training at 317 impacted your life outside of the gym?
“I work in hotels so the hours can be long and often demanding to ensure our guests are taken care of. Since joining CrossFit I have a whole new level of energy. Gone are the days of drinking 4-5 cups of coffee to get through the day. I don’t need it anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good PSL from Starbucks but I don’t NEED it anymore. My staff has been so encouraging throughout this challenge. That support and accountability is priceless to me.”

How does CrossFit 317 meet your health and fitness needs?
“I needed someone or something to keep me accountable. Not only that, but I need to be reminded that working out can be fun and the results are worth it!”

What’s your favorite part of CrossFit?
“The camaraderie. I didn’t realize how much I missed being part of an athletic team. I love cheering on the other ladies in my class. As someone who grew up playing sports, it’s awesome to be back in that type of competitive atmosphere.”

If asked to sum up 317 in one word or phrase, what would it be?
“That’s a tough one! The first thing that comes to mind is ‘Community.’ You can tell that 317’s members and coaches care for and support each other. It’s more like a family and less like a gym.”
