“It’s only been two weeks, but I already feel more powerful…”


This week we’re featuring an interview with one of our newest CrossFit community members, Kate Cook. Kate recently started with us in our popular New You Challenge. We’re thrilled with how quickly she’s found her groove in CrossFit and with the positive energy that she brings to each class.

What were your first impressions upon joining CrossFit 317?
“Everything that everyone is doing looks really hard, and I hope I can do those same things too through a lot of hard work!”

How has your training at 317 impacted your life outside of the gym?
“I feel a lot more confident. It’s only been two weeks, but I already feel more powerful and that carries over into my work as a public defender.”

How does CrossFit 317 meet your health and fitness needs?
“Before joining CrossFit 317, I never did any strength training, and I also didn’t really ramp up the intensity of my workouts. My body is thanking me for joining!”

Do you have a 317 memory that you would like to share?
“Getting to know the other women in our class and challenging each other. It seems that a group setting brings out your best!”

What’s your favorite part of CrossFit?
“Not know what we’re going to have to do that day. I like the element of surprise!”

If asked to sum up 317 in one word or phrase, what would it be?
“Hard work and camaraderie!”

Outside of the gym, what activities and hobbies do you enjoy?
“I love to read, watch movies, run, play basketball, and I am a board game fanatic!“
