Get to know CrossFit 317 community member, Brandi Carroll in today’s Member Monday. Brandi joined through our popular New You Challenge in August 2016. After completing that program and a series of personal training sessions, she recently transitioned in to our CrossFit classes. Brandi has quickly discovered the benefits of consistency in attendance. Read on to get to know more about her experience at CrossFit 317.

What were your first impressions upon joining CrossFit 317?
“Intimidated, nervous, scared, excited.  I wasn’t sure what to expect each with each workout and had a range of emotions, but I’ve kept coming back.”

How has your training at 317 impacted your life outside of the gym?
“I have a lot more energy, I’m in a good mood more. , I’ve also become more conscientious about foods/drinks and their impact on my body.”

How does CrossFit 317 meet your health and fitness needs?
“It’s really meeting them in a way that other gyms have not. As previously stated, I’m more conscientious about what I put in my body, my water intake, getting adequate rest so that I can be in the best shape to endure & give the workouts my all.” 

Do you have a 317 memory that you would like to share?
“During the New You Challenge, we did a warm up of burpees to the song Roxanne.  I felt like I was going to die and suffered from PTSD, didn’t want to ever hear that song!  Ironically, a few weeks ago I downloaded the song and have tried to do the same exercise at home!”

What’s your favorite part of CrossFit?
“The community of athletes and coaches! Coming regularly has given me an accountability that I’ve not had in the past.”

If asked to sum up 317 in one word or phrase, what would it be?
“It’s an awesome fitness family! Very welcoming and encouraging!”

Outside of the gym, what activities and hobbies do you enjoy?
“I like cooking and baking, DIY projects and crafting. I love to travel!”
