“It’s an every body part, every day type of training. . .”


 

CrossFit 317 member, Amy Hession, shares her thoughts on CrossFit, challenging herself, and the social nature of our community in today’s Member Monday.

What were your first impressions upon joining CrossFit 317?
“My first impression upon joining CrossFit 317 was that every member I met was so friendly! I felt welcomed from day one. From the first day I began, I have been challenged physically. I love being pushed, and there hasn’t been a WOD that does not challenge me! “

How has your training at 317 impacted your life outside of the gym?
“I feel stronger in all aspects of life physically and mentally. CrossFit has made me committed to something other than running. It has also allowed me to feel part of a team again which I love! I moved to Brownsburg after I got married, and CrossFit friendships help to keep me busy so that I cannot focus as much on missing my family in southern Indiana. It is also something that my husband, Michael, and I can look forward to doing together!”

How does CrossFit 317 meet your health and fitness needs?
“Each workout is designed to work different parts of your body which is something I love. Many of the workouts use all the different muscle groups of your body to complete so it’s never just a leg day or just an arm day. It’s an every body part, every day type of training which I think is important since running cross country and track never fully challenged my upper body.”

Do you have a 317 memory that you would like to share?
“I loved doing the Sweat Angels competition. It was a great atmosphere and huge challenge, but with great people, it was fun!”

What’s your favorite part of CrossFit?
“The friends I have made at CrossFit are becoming a bigger part of my life. The commitment from the coaches and staff to keep me in touch with the gym is great. I love that every day is a different workout.”

“Community.”

Outside of the gym, what activities and hobbies do you enjoy?
“Running, taking my dog to the park, attending bible study, shopping, and of course spending time with my husband and family!”
