My wife Annah and I just moved back to Indiana in May. We previously lived in Chicago for a year and Las Vegas for several years prior to that. We both went to college here so it’s nice to be back. My wife went to Butler and I went to IU. HOO HOO HOO HOOSIERS!
Basically got bored to death with going to the gym and doing karate in the garage so my friend Brandon and I signed up and the rest is history.
My first experience like everyone was the on-ramp classes. I had never heard of some of the movements they were teaching me so I was lost. I’m pretty sure if someone filmed my first Clean & Jerk it would be one of the funniest YouTube videos on the planet.
I started at 317 in May when we moved to Indy.
My first real WOD was in Feb of this year. I started crossfitting at Division St. Crossfit in Chicago.
After the first class I was drenched with sweat and I was pushed to my limit and I knew right away that this was something I would like doing!
My short-term goal would be to continue getting stronger at the movements/lifts that I don’t like, A long term goal would just be to continue to stay fit and continue doing crossfit as long as I can.
Besides finding a girl that would marry me?…RX’ing a WOD for the first time is a pretty awesome feeling because you know you’re improving but when I got my first muscle up last week I was really fired up because I did the work, and practiced the technique and got the result!
Favorite WOD: I like most of the ones with Girl names but Helen & Cindy are good.
Least Favorite WOD: Most of the HERO Wod’s
Favorite Movement: Power Clean or Pull Ups
Least Favorite Movement: Turkish Get Ups, or Anything that puts weight over my shoulders!
I work in the Marketing department at OrthoIndy
I like to travel, play sports, watch sports and I collect rare and hard to find craft beers.
I try and eat Paleo 80% of the time.
My favorite paleo meal is a “Meat-zza” that I make, non-paleo is definitely Cheeseburgers & Fries!
The 3 Commandments of Hulkamania- The Training, The Prayers and The Vitamins BROTHER! Other than that, just a post workout protein shake.
I went to UNLV for a year before I transferred to IU and graduated with a Sports Com degree.
I was a hockey play-by-play broadcaster for 5 years with the Las Vegas Wranglers.
We are fans of the show Diner’s, Drive-In’s and Dives, so when we travel around we like to stop and eat at the places that Guy goes to on the show. My favorite food I’ve had off the show is the Ballistic Elvis @ Iron Barley in St. Louis…it is amazing!
