How did you get involved in CrossFit?

Last year I was working out and began to see myself just going through the motions and soon lacked motivation all together. I saw a rerun of the games were on Tv and I thought to myself wow this looks incredible. That next day I was driving down 267, which I never do and saw the sign for Crossfit 317. I figured this was enough of a sign for me to at least give it a shot.

What was your first WOD/experience?

My very first workout all I remember was first having a max back squat. It was hideous and was just the bar. After that the only thing I recall was driving home and getting the feeling that I could not wait for the next workout. Unfortunately that was a few days later because I was pretty beat.

When did you start coming to CrossFit 317?

Last summer.

Is this the first CrossFit you’ve worked out at / how long have you been CrossFitting for?

This is the first CrossFit I have ever done.Charlie2

When did you realize that CrossFit was right for you?

After the first workout. I felt this was the best way for me to reach my fitness goals.

What are you short-term and long-term CrossFit goals?

I have already completed my short term goal- stick with it. My long term goal is to definitely get to the point where I can wear UnderArmor compression shirts as actually everyday shirts. One day…

What is your biggest accomplishment?

My biggest accomplishments goes as follows in this order:
CrossFit317 Athlete of the month
Birth of my son Jaxon
Graduating from Ball State
Getting married- the wife would be furious if she wasn’t at least top 5

What is your favorite / least favorite WOD/movement?

Charlie3
Favorite– hand stand pushups. Least- anything snatch related.
Favorite WOD: Bring sally up
Least Favorite WOD: I dont have a least favorite-I love them all!

What do you do for a profession outside of CrossFit?

I am the Shipping Supervisor at the Oreilly Autoparts Distribution Center

What are your hobbies outside of CrossFit?

Drinking is my hobby because they stopped selling Pogs. Golf is a good time as well.

Do you eat Paleo or Zone?

I have been trying to eat as Paleo as I can. It has been going well besides the occasional late night HotBox pizza.

What is your favorite paleo/non-paleo meal?

Paleo- steak and eggs. Non- pizza and beer

Do you use any supplements?

No need. I have a picture of myself overweight next to my bed and on my refrigerator. If I ever feel unmotivated to workout or eat right I just look at that photo and change my mind.

Give me 3 fun facts about you!

My wife and I are a result of a random spontaneous spring break marriage in college. I guess it worked out because she is still around.

I absolutely refuse to watch scary movies. A little wine and a romantic comedy is my kind of night.

I am a shopaholic. I have 3 closets of clothes and more shoes then one man should have in his lifetime. I do not wear the same outfit twice.
